double life
my boss asked me to email someone today, and the address that came up in the pulldown was anncm@whatever.com, which i thought was strange because the man’s name is John. i assumed anncm was the initialism of his company. (some of the people we work with have generic company names as their DBA instead of using their actual names.)
i just got an email which my inbox claims is from Ann C. and is signed John. (M is the initial of his last name)
at first i thought he must be using his wife’s email address. but then thought that is really weird to do, especially for business. so instead i choose to believe that John also goes by the name of Ann and is only John in his/her professional life.
